The 11-year old Oldenburg licensed stallion Rosengold OLD has been euthanized because of the injuries he sustained in a transport accident while being shipped by air to his new home in Australia.

Rosengold OLD was by Rohdiamant x Diamond Hit x Ex Libris and was bred by Silvia Gering. He was licensed in Vechta in 2008 and did his 30-day stllion performance testing in Schlieckau in December 2009, where he scored 7.77 points. He was only very lightly competed in his career.

Australian Grand Prix rider Amanda Shoobridge acquired the dark bay licensed stallion from Heinz Ahlers in August 2017 and had planned on standing him at stud at Revelwood in Australia and compete him at Grand Prix level.

Rosengold sustained a massive injury when he fell in his transport container as the plane landed. He was being shipped in a double size stall.

"It’s been horrible," Amanda told Eurodressage. "Rosengold fell twice in the plane and was highly ataxic when he reached quarantine in Melbourne. After diagnostic tests they found he had severe spinal cord compression which was ultimately the cause of his demise. It’s so devastating. He was such a lovely stallion with a big heart and impeccable work ethic. It’s so sad and I’m devastated."
