Mount St. John, Great Britain's leading dressage horse brood farm based in Felixkirk, has acquired a new star for their mare band, a daughter out of Olympic team silver winning Atterupgaards Orthilia.

Atterupgaards O2 is a 7-year old Oldenburg registered mare by Belissimo and bred by embryotransfer out of Atterupgaards Orthilia (by Gribaldi x Donnerschlag), who won Olympic team silver in Rio under Fiona Bigwood.

O2 is a state premium mare who was invited to the 2014 Oldenburg Elite Mare Show in Rastede and finished sixth in the Brilliant ring. She has produced two offspring so far, a 2013 born but unfortunately deceased filly Olga (by Seebach) and a 2016 born colt by Furst Wilhelm.

Under Selina Solberg Vittinghus, the liver chestnut O2 competed in four shows in Denmark. Her first was in September 2014, she then did two at A/L-level in 2015 and in January 2017 she contested another A/L-level class which she won with 79.63%.

"We were looking for a long time to get the right Gribaldi blood into our breeding," Mount St. John's Emma Jane Blundell told Eurodressage. "I think she is probably the most interesting Gribaldi broodmare in the world right now, so to have the opportunity of a direct daughter by a very interesting Grand Prix stallion was perfect for us."
