2017 U.S. Dressage Championships

The United States Equestrian Federation has announced the combinations which have qualified to compete at the 2017 U.S. Dressage Championships, also known as the Festival of Champions, to be held at the USET headquarters in Gladstone, NJ, on 18 - 21 May 2017.

This year's U.S Dressage Championships in Gladstone will contest the small and big tour championship as well as the Under 25 Championship. In 2016 the Nationals were cancelled due to organisational and logistics problems. The annual youth riders and developing horse championships will take place in Wayne, ILL in August.

Competition will begin on Thursday 18 May 18 with the Grand Prix following the veterinary inspection on Wednesday 17 May 17. Classes will continue each day through Sunday 21 May.

Ten Grand Prix riders in total have qualified to compete at Gladstone. Remarkably none of America's Olympic team riders have met the set requirements. Laura Graves (Verdades), Steffen Peters (Rosamunde), Kasey Perry-Glass (Gorklintgards Dublet), Adrienne Lyle (Salvino), and Katherine Bateson-Chandler (Alcazar), for instance, have not met the criteria.

The USEF will be approving additional combinations for wild cards and the definite list of entries will be announced next week.
