Paul Schockemohle's Fusion OLD Sold to Belgium

Paul Schockemohle's 7-year old Oldenburg licensed stallion Fusion OLD has been partly sold to Belgian Paralympic champion Michele George. She has agreed upon a collaboration with Schockemohle to ride more of his youngsters.

Fusion is bred by Harm Onchen and born in 2010. He is by Furst Romancier out of Tasmina (by Sion x Ramino x Furioso II).

The black stallion was approved at the 2013 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Vechta, Germany, after he did his 70-day Stallion Performance Testing in Schlieckau in the spring of 2013.

Fusion OLD was first competed by Ann Christin Wienhamp, who became reserve champion at the 2014 Oldenburg Young Horse Championships in Rastede with him and placed fifth at the 2014 Bundeschampionate. Anja Engelbart took over the ride in 2015 and competed him at the 2015 Bundeschampionate, where he finished 6th in the 5-year old finals. At the 2016 Bundeschampionate he was 12th in the 6-year old division. They also won bronze at the 2016 Oldenburg Young Horse Championships.

Michele George, a Grade IV Paralympian, has bought a 50% ownership share in Fusion OLD for him to become her future star. George became a paralympic rider after a lunging accident that caused her to have hemiplegia in her left leg. She won double gold at the 2012 Paralympics in London and gold and silver at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.

"He's a very smart stallion and I'm looking forward to the future with him," George told Eurodressage. "We only just got to know each other and there is work to be done, but I'm planning to compete him this season. I aim not only to ride in para sport with him but also on the regular show circuit. I also made an agreement with Schockemohle Sport to ride and compete other young horses for them."

George confirmed that at the moment she only has Schockemohle's Fusion to ride. "We're starting with Usi (Fusion)," she stated, adding that Paul's wingman Joseph Klaphake enabled to collaboration. "He's the man who believed in me and gave me confidence. I'm incredibly grateful to him."
