Preussenstern and Burnstein Approved at 2017 Danish Trakehner Licensing

Preussenstern and Burnstein became the two approved colts that received a positive verdict for breeding by licensing committee at the 2017 Danish Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Middelfart, Denmark, on 17 - 19 February 2017.

Judges Albrecht Warnecke and Horst Dieter Jager, together with riders Anders Dahl and Irene de Darco assessed the colts. 

Two stallions were approved and the 4-year old Preussenstern (by Herbstkonig out of 2005 Trakehner Mare of the Year Polka (by Connery)) was named the licensing champion. The bay is bred and owned by Kaj Olesen from Errindlev, Denmark. The stallion is described as "expressive, typy, well proportioned and with energetic movements."

The second licensed stallion was the 3-year old Burnstein (by Finckenstein out of Butterfly II (by Summertime)). He is bred and owned by Tonny N. Bang from Ryomgård, Denmark. This colt was described as "nicely in the rectangular model, well muscled and powerful movements."

At the same time of the licensing the Danish Trakehner Dressage Championships, judged by Grethe Eriksen, took place and they were won by Anne Troensegaard on the 7-year old Kipling (by Hofrat x Hohenstein) with 81.564%. Youth rider Natalie Hering finished second on the 8-year old Litvinenko Sjaelstofte (by Imperio x Pidroneur) with 74.763%, followed by Maria Slotsdal Steffensen on the 8-year old Kattavango (by Okavango x Inter Graditz) with 70.974%.
