Fraulein Smilla Named Champion of the 2016 Austrian Warmblood Elite Mare Show

The bay mare Fraulein Smilla was named the champion mare in the 3-year old division at the 2016 Austrian Warmblood Elite Mare Show held at the Austrian warmblood young horse championships in Stadl Paura, Austria on 25 September 2016.

Out of thirteen 3-year old mares five were invited to the champion's ring in which Fraulein Smilla took highest honour.

Bred and owned by Irene Kovac and Johannes Mayr, Fraulein Smilla is by Benicio out of Florencina K (by Florencio). The mare, who was also the 2013 Austrian Warmblood Filly Champion, stood out with her type and movement mechanism. She scored a total mark of 8.4 for the national title with 9 for type, 8 for conformation, 8 for correctness, and 8.5 for walk and trot.

The reserve champion was Scala N (by Don Primus x Carabas), owned by Julia Röhrig. The scored a total of 8.2 with 9 for typen 8.5 for conformation, 7.5 for correctness, and 8.0 for walk and trot.

The Austrian Warmblood elite mare show also has a 4-year old mare class in which fourteen mares in total were presented. Six were picked for the finals. Franz Maier's bright bay Jacarda M (by Zack) claimed the title after she impressed with her cadence, and her activity with hind and foreleg in trot. She scored 8.5 for type, 7.5 for conformation and correctness, and 9.0 for walk and trot to average 8.3 points. Johann Breinesel's Sunshine (by) was the runner-up with an average og 8.1. She scored 8.5 for type, 8.0 for conformation, 7.5 for correctness, 8.0 for walk and 8.5 for trot.
