Riding Horses and Ponies Go into First Round at 2016 Bundeschampionate

On the third day of competition on Friday 2 September 2016, Germany's best bred and BuCha qualified 3 and 4-year old riding horses and ponies had all gone in their first round, a qualifier for the championship finals, at the 2016 Bundeschampionte at the DOKR headquarters in Warendorf, Germany.

In the 3-year old riding horse division, the winner of the stallion class was Destacado (by Desperados x Londonderry). Bred by Heinrich Giesselmann and owned by Friederike Lohse, the chestnut Destacado was ridden by Pascal Kandziora and scored a total of 8.8. The stallion earned 8.5 for trot and walk, and 9 for canter, training and conformation.

Anja Engelbart and Paul Schockemohle's Oldenburg mare Festina PS (by Furstenball x Festrausch) bested the field in the 3-year old mare and geldings class. The black mare totalled 8.9 with 9.5 for trot, 8.5 for caanter and walk, and 9 for training and confortmation.

In the 3-year old riding pony division, the stallion winner was Miami (by Mr Right x Pilgrim's Red). Under Wibke Hartmann-Stommel the palomino stallion topped the board with an 8.5 total. He got 9 for trot, 8 for canter and walk,, 8.5 for training and 9 for conformation.

Hartmann-Stommel also rode Thomas Stuhldreier's Camino Royal (by Cracker Jax x Courage) to victory in the mares and geldings class with 8.3. The chestnut gelding got 8.5 for trot, 8 for canter, 9 for walk, 8 for training and 8 for conformation.

And Hartmann-Stommel continued her success tour also in the 4-year old riding horse mares and geldings class aboard Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff's home bred Oldenburg mare True Love OLD (by Totilas x Florencio). The black mare scored a total of 8.5 and got 9 for trot, 10 for canter, 7.5 for walk and 8 for training and conformation. 

In the 4-year old stallion division Ann-Christin Wienkamp steered Axel Windeler's Hanoverian Don Martillo (by Don Juan de Hus x Benetton Dream) to victory with an 8.7 total. The black stallion earned 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter, 9.5 for walk, 8.5 for training and 8 for conformation.

In the 4-year old riding pony division, the high scoring stallion was the buckskin Clooney (by Cyrill x Valido). Bred and owned by Nadine Krause, Coolio was ridden by Hartmann-Stommel and scored 9 for trot, 8 for canter, 8.5 for walk, 9 for training and 8 for conformation to finish first on 8.5.

Christiane Seelig and Juliet Walker's buckskin gelding BKS Coolio (by Champion de Luxe x Black Boy) was a league of his own in the 4-year old mares and geldings division. The beautiful pony got an 8.9 total after scoring 9.5 for trot, 8 for canter, 9.5 for walk, 9 for training and 8.5 for conformation.
