The Guelderlander licensed breeding stallion Koss has passed away at age 23. The bay stallion was suffering from old age and on 13 July owner Marcel van Bruggen decided to have the stallion euthanized.

Koss was bred by Karel van Leijden in Hengelo, The Netherlands, and was born on 16 July 1992. He was by El Corona out of the Keur preferent mare Erona (by Goudsmid).

Koss was licensed with the KWPN society in 1995 and was introduced into sport by Christa Larmoyeur. He competed up to M-level in dressage and was also jumped by Bart Bless at M-level.

The 1.68m standing stallion became one of the most influential Guelderlander stallion in Dutch horse breeding. He sired the licensed stallions Parcival (dam sire Unitas), Alexandra P (dam sire Satelliet) and Wilson (dam sire Cabochon). Direct offspring Parcival, Olympic Dream and Villeneuve are competing at small tour level.

The KWPN society proclaimed Koss Keur Stallion in 2005. In 2011 he became a preferent sire.
