After a collaboration of 13 years, Dutch Grand Prix rider Kirsten Beckers and the stallion station and brood farm Stable Broere in Ablasserdam, The Netherlands, are parting ways. Top horse Westpoint has been allocated to Emmelie Scholtens.
The 38-year old Kirsten Beckers began working at Stable Broere in 2003 taking over the position of head trainer there from Liseon Kamper.
At the beginning of her partnership with Broere, she took over the ride on small tour horses Broere Karmijn, Broere Montecristo and Broere Ohio, as well as Broere Obeslisk. Aboard the Bert Rutten bred Montecristo she booked her first big successes. In 2006 she got submitted to the Dutch A-team with the bay stallion.
In 2005 Beckers also took over the ride on the legendary KWPN stallion Jazz, who had previously been trained and competed at Grand Prix level by Tineke Bartels. They campaigned at international Grand Prix level from 2005 until 2007.
Broere acquired the 2009 World Young Horse Champion Westpoint (by Jazz x Michelangelo), who won the title in Verden in the 6-year old division under Emmelie Scholtens. Beckers made her international Grand Prix debut on the stallion in June 2014 and competed him from 2014 till 2016 at CDi's in Drachten, Den Bosch, Nieuw en St. Joosland, Roosendaal, Rotterdam, Arnheim, Hagen and Drachten. The 2016 CDI Drachten in January was their last international. They placed 18th in the Grand Prix with 64.840% and 6th in Kur with 71.750%
Two weeks ago, Westpoint has been relocated back to Emmelie Scholtens' stable who will continue the sport career of the black stallion.
