Wynn Medinger, publisher of Equestrian Living, announced that Carol Cohen will join the magazine as editor-at-large.  Cohen has produced multiple articles for the magazine including the “Celebrating Dressage” cover story for the summer 2015 issue.

“We first met Carol in 2012 when we did a shoot and an article about Two Swans Farm for our second issue,” said Medinger. “We immediately loved her energy and vision. Since then she has been generous with her insights and ideas. It was time to make our relationship official.”

Cohen’s background in fashion and her life as an equestrian is perfectly suited to the role of editor-at-large of the lifestyle magazine. Originally from Boston and later moved to New York, Cohen studied art history at Sarah Lawrence College. She founded The Picture Group, an agency that represented top fashion photographers in New York, Paris and Milan. A year-round resident of Wellington for nearly a decade, Cohen is also an agent for Keller Williams, specializing in luxury and equestrian properties.

“Since the first issue, I have always felt that EQ was world class,” Cohen said. “It was an honor to be featured and now I am honored with my affiliation. My role as editor-at-large combines my love for the equestrian lifestyle and my roots in fashion. I am thrilled.”

Cohen is a former hunter/jumper rider who discovered the sport of dressage and competed at the FEI-level. Her Two Swans Farm in Wellington, Florida, became a hub for dressage education and a host of world-class clinics and educational events. Cohen’s daughter Rebecca is a top young dressage rider, with national championships to her credit.

She was recently named to the Wellington Equestrian Preserve Committee and is a founding sponsor of the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival and a supporter of the United States Equestrian Team Foundation. She established The Global Dressage Visionary Award to recognize professionals and dressage enthusiasts who promote classical dressage. During the 2016 winter equestrian season, Robert Dover, chef d’équipe of the U.S. Dressage Team, asked Cohen to take the reins of the new dressage Leadline class, as part of his pipeline vision.

She owned the Danish Warmblood stallion, Come Back II, with John Byrialsen. A top breeding stallion, ComeBack II sired many notable dressage offspring, including Tina Konyot’s U.S. Olympic team horse Calecto V and Lars Petersen’s mount Mariett, owned by Marcia Pepper.
