The inaugural European Under 25 Championships which will be held 16 - 19 June 2016 will relocate from its original venue Ankum to Hagen am Teutoburger Wald, Germany. The show dates remain the same.

Ullrich Kasselmann of Hof Kasselmann is the show host of the 2016 European Under 25 Championships and originally the event was allocated to Ankum, where the annual PSI Auction and  PSI indoor winter dressage competitions take place.

"The authorization for the building of the stadium in Ankum was there, but there were delays in drawing up the development plan," Kasselmann told Dressursport Deutschland. "I don't want to take a risk so we'll be hosting the Europeans in Hagen. We'll do it exactly the same way at the 2005 European Championships, when we took over the organisation from Moscow. They will be competing in the big stadium.

Ankum will continue to build its big outdoor arena so more opportunities to host competitions will be available at this venue in the future.
