Dutch Grand Prix rider Jeannette Haazen has received the ride on the Belgian owned Grand Prix horse Dabanos d'O4 which was previously competed at international GP level by Belgian Ona Dewaegenaere.

Dabanos d'O4 is a 13-year old Belgian warmblood gelding bred by Victor Van Sant and owned by Ona's mother Denise van Dingengen. He is by Abanos out of Sandra de Malous (by Donnerschlag).

Under Ona Dewaegenaere the dark bay gelding made his international show debut at small tour level in April 2012 and they moved to Grand Prix level in June 2012. They competed at CDi's in Rotterdam, Deauville, Leudelange, Drachten, Bremen, Roosendaal, Compiegne, Deauville, Kapellen, Roosendaal, Nieuw en St. Joosland, Hagen and Zandhoven over the years. Their last show was the CDI Roosendaal in May 2015.

Haazen received the ride on the gelding half a year ago as the owner is a student of hers.

Haazen and Dabanos d'O4 made their show debut at the Dutch national show at equestrian centre De Peelbergen in Kronenberg, The Netherlands, on Friday 1 April 2016. They finished second with 67.50%. Haazen returned to the Grand Prix ring after a six year break when she sold her only GP horse Nartan to the U.S.A.. Her last international show was in April 2010 on Nartan at the CDI Hagen.

"He's super eager to learn and with him I want to be part of the top in The Netherlands again and compete internationally," Haazen told De Hoefslag.

Jeannette Haazen has had her share of bad luck over the past 10 years. In 2007 she and her husband were in a severe lorry accident and in 2011 Jeannete  fell off another rearing horse and in 2014 the same happened again.
