In Germany the autumn 70-day Stallion Performance Testings (HLP) came to a conclusion at its three prominent stations in Marbach, Neustadt/Dosse and Adelheidsdorf. Chambrett GT, My Blue Pleasure d'Ive Z, and Buckingham were the winners of the 2014 autumn 70-day testings.
The 70-day testing in Marbach was the first to conclude on 24 September 2014. A show jumper became the overall winner: Chambretto GT (by Concetto). He scored an overal total of 8.78 with a dressage score of 8.38 and a jumping score of 9.24. The second highest scoring horse there was dressage stallion Ben Kingsley (by Benetton Dream) with a total score of 8.36. He got a dressage score of 8.15 and a jumping score of 8.11.
The 70-day testing in Neustadt/Dosse finished on 23 October 2014, well attended by a huge group of stallions. Another jumper became the winner of this testing: My Blue Pleasure d'Ive Z (by Mr Bleu). He got a total of 8.27 with a dressage score of 7.55 and a jumping score of 8.81. The runner-up was Discar (by Diarado) with an 8.20 total (7.76 for dressage and 8.48 for jumping). It was all about show jumping in Neustadt/Dosse as the top five high scorers were all show jumping bred. The stallion with the highest dressage score was Quaterstern (by Quaterback) with a dressage score of 8.29. Because of his 'lower' jumper mark of 7.41 he finished on a total of 7.93.
A Dutch bred stallion ruled the roost at the performance testing in Adelheidsdorf which concluded on 29 October 2014. Buckingham (by Bordeaux x Rousseau x Renville) scored a total of 8.46 points with a whopping dressage score of 9.03 and a jumper score of 7.80. Owned by the Celle State Stud but not approved for Hanover, the Oldenburg licensed Buckingham was the only stallion to score an overall mark above 8.0.
