Zoutendijk Makes it Five in a Row at Fifth Leg of 2013-2014 KNHS FEI Cup in Uden

2013-2014 KNHS FEI Pony Cup

Leading Dutch pony rider Lisanne Zoutendijk wielded the axe of power and made it five in a row when she won the fifth leg of the 2013-2014 KNHS FEI Pony Cup competition in Uden, The Netherlands, on 12 April 2014. With her two ponies Champ of Class and Amaretto she has been undeafeted on the circuit this year.

At the Uden qualifier, Zoutendijk won the class aboard her experienced 20-year old Amaretto (by Alfred). In Uden the Dutch pony riders rode outdoors for the first time this season, but most ponies were unaffected by the change in scenery.

Judge Jurgen van Baal commented that most ponies excel in the canter work, even more so than in trot. Winner Lisanne and Amaretto stood out with their simple changes and smooth riding. They scored 70.641% for victory.

The second place went to Lisanne's 2013 European Championship team mate Demy Kurstjens on the chestnut gelding Ciske (by Composer van de Beekerheide). With 69.615% the pair placed second scoring high points with the uphill canter but there could have been more push from behind in the extended trot and more looseness in walk.

Zoe Kuintjes and Elin's Nonsisdador (by Nostradamus) were third with 68.462%. The rider kept a very nice and steady contact with the bit and also scored high marks in canter.

There is one more qualifier for the 2014 KNHS FEI Cup in Kootwijk, The Netherlands, on 17 May before the finals at the CDIO Rotterdam on 21 June 2014.
