The Oldenburg licensed stallion Royal Hit has been euthanized on 15 July 2013 following a freak accident in his stable, which resulted in him breaking his leg.

"Royal Hit was adored by so many and absolutely loved by us," said the owner of Bloomfield Farm in Australia, where Royal Hit was standing at stud. "His sweet, gentle character and charismatic presence was like no other and will be very sadly missed. From his early morning greeting when he heard our footsteps approaching the barn, to the excitement for breeding duties when he heard the rattle of the stallion bit, his personality was infectious and would never fail to bring a smile to your face."

Royal Hit (by Royal Dance x Ramino x Welt As) was bred and owned by Paul Schockemohle and is out of the famous dam Loretta, who also
produced Sandro Hit and Diamond Hit. Royal Hit finished third in the
premium ring at the 2002 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing.

He scored
8.03 at his 30-day test and achieved an index of 109.91 points and
placed fifth overall in the 70-day Stallion Performance Test in Redefin,
finishing sixth for dressage with 109.49 points.

Royal Hit was never one of the most popular stallions in Schockemohle's barn and was only very lightly competed at A-level by Schockemohle's head trainer Anja Engelbart. The German stallion owner agreed in the winter of 2006 for the liver chestnut stallion to move to Australia.

According to Bloomfield farm "the impact Royal Hit has made in Australia, and will continue to make through his progeny, is far beyond what most people will ever realize. He was a genetic masterpiece with an unmatched siring ability."

Royal Hit has sired six licensed offspring, of which Royal Doruto is probably the most famous one. The American owned chestnut mare Royal Coeur competed at the 2011 World Young Horse Championships in Verden.
