Lisanne Zoutendijk became the winner of the 2013 KNHS FEI Pony Cup Finals held during the 2013 CDIO Rotterdam on Saturday 22 June 2013. Zoutendijk and her German bred gelding Champ of Class won the first and second round with mid seventy percentage score and took highest honour.
Zoutendijk and Champ of Class (by Champion de Luxe) scored 73.504% in the first round and 75.543% in the Kur to Music to produce a winning score average of 75.543%. The 15-year old Zoutendijk was almost fault free in the kur. "At the end of the extended canter he changed lead for a moment but that was the only thing. For the rest we were faultfree," Lisanne commented.
Demy Kurstjens and the chestnut Dutch bred gelding Ciske finished second overall with 73.940% after two rounds in which they ranked second twice. Kurstjens scored 71.880 in round one and 76.000 in the Kur. "In the first test we had a mistake in the rhythm in the medium trot and a few little issues, but overall my pony moves spectacularly," said Kurstjens. "In the Kur I had my pony sharper at the aids and I think he was even more spectacular."
Joelle Peters and the Belgian owned New Forest Pony Haasendonck's Sultan ended up third after scoring 69.701% (4th) in round one and 73.500 (3rd) in the Kur.
Judge Paulien van Nispen commetnted that the top three in the Kur were riding at a very high level. "The first three ponies all moved very uphill and all three rode a real kur, in which there were nice musical accents. All three made small mistakes. Lisanne and Demy rode strong half passes as well as extensions which were musically well supported. Joelle rode technically strong but lost points in the artistic part. She was not on the music and that cost a lot of points in a freestyle."
