The Dutch Equestrian Federation and Dutch team trainer Wim Ernes have just announced the team that will represent The Netherlands at the second leg of the FEI Nations' Cup pilot season circuit held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on 19 - 23 June 2013. Ernes named his team at a press conference in Rotterdam.
Ernes stated that the Dutch will be present "full force" at the CDIO Rotterdam, even though Adelinde Cornelissen will be absent as Parzival is not fit. The 16-year old chestnut gelding has been diagnosed with arrhythmia and has been treated at the equine clinic in Ghent, Belgium. He will be out for several weeks before training can resume.
The Dutch flag will be represented in Rotterdam by:
- Edward Gal - Undercover
- Hans Peter Minderhoud - Romanov
- Patrick van der Meer - Uzzo
- Madeleine Witte Vrees - Wynton
The Dutch team recently won the first leg of the FEI Nations' Cup in Vidauban. "I want to keep hold of that first spot," said Ernes. "This is also the reason why I am selecting the team for Rotterdam which I believe can score the highest."
