The 9-year old licensed Danish warmblood stallion UNO Don Diego has been sold to Mary Alice Malone of Iron Spring Farm in Coatesville, PA, U.S.A by Finnish Grand Prix rider Henri Ruoste.

The black stallion by Dressage Royal out of a Falkland dam descendes from one of Denmark's strongest dam lines, which also produced World Young Horse Champion UNO Donna Unique and the licensed stallion UNO Don Diablo (by Don Schufro).

Bred by Stutteri Uno and previously owned by Bente and Jørgen Steen Jensen, Don Diego recently sold to Finnish Grand Prix rider Henri Ruoste who trained the horse briefly and then resold it in a short period of time to his American client.

Don Diego got licensed as a premium stallion with the Danish warmblood society in 2006. He won the stallion performance test for dressage stallions and so far has 300 registered offspring on the ground in Denmark. He sired the late 2011 Danish warmblood licensing champion ERA Dancing Hit.

Under Thomas Lassen, Don Diego represented Denmark at the 2009 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where he finished 13th in the 6-year old finals. In 2012 he made his debut at Intermediaire II level under Mikael Ketelsen.

"Mikael did a fantastic job training the stallions since he got the ride on it and he took him up to Grand Prix level," Steen Jensen told Ridehesten.

At Iron Spring Farm Don Diego will be used as a competition horse as well as a breeding stallion. ISF also stands the Dutch warmblood dressage stallions UB40 (by Olivi x Michelangelo) and Sir Sinclair (by Lord Sinclair x Flemmingh) as well as the Westfalian Grand Prix stallion Florianus (by Florestan x Damenstolz).
