Jumping Mechelen and its CDI4* dressage competition have been added to the new 2012-2013 World Dressage Masters calendar. The 2012 CDI Mechelen takes place 27 - 28 December 2012 and riders that have confirmed participation are Helen Langehanenberg, Patrik Kittel, Edward Gal, Hans Peter Minderhoud, and Jeroen Devroe.

"Mechelen will be the first indoor of WDM and also the 19th WDM event. Jumping Mechelen, since years and day known as an organizer of a top event with high numbers of visitors, offers the perfect merger of both dressage and show jumping. The opportunity for visitors to enjoy both disciplines," said Anthony Kies, founder of the World Dressage Masters.

The World Dressage Masters (WDM) was founded in 2008, when a first test event taking place in Cannes, France. As of 2009 WDM supported 4 to 5 events per year in Europe and the USA. Meanwhile 18 WDM events have taken place in which more than 250 riders from more than 18 different countries divided 1,8 million euros of prize money. Mechelen is now the first indoor instalment of the WDM.

"The purpose of WDM for the future is to expand to more events that are supported by us. WDM will (then) seek a good distribution of its shows in a calendar year and cooperate with organizers who are able to offer the quality level that WDM pursues. The whole WDM – team looks forward to the event in Mechelen," Kies added.

Taking place between the main Christmas holidays of the year, the CDI Mechelen, which last year lost its World Cup Qualifier status, offers  spectators top dressage in an atmospheric and professional environment.
