2012 CDI Leudelange

The 2012 CDI Leudelange continued on the weekend of 14 - 16 September with the Prix St Georges and Grand Prix classes after the mid-week youth riders' classes came to a conclusion. Dutch Lynne Maas and the chestnut gelding Zamora outshone their rivals in the small tour, winning the Prix St Georges and Inter I Kur to Music.

The small tour riders at Leudelange were divided into two groups: those who wanted to qualify for the Inter I and those for the Inter I Kur. Maas and her 8-year old Zamora (by Krack C x Farrington) were a league of their own as the chestnut Dutch warmblood gelding showed great class with his quality basic gaits and absolute Grand Prix potential thanks to an engaged and quick hind leg. The pair won the PSG with 70.658% and the Inter I kur with 76.300%.

In the second small tour group Annemieke Vincourt and her home bred KWPN Kansas C (by Krack C) won the Prix St Georges with 71.553%, while the Intermediaire I was won by the Luxembourg based Dane Fie Skarsoe on One Night Stand (by Olivi) with 71.868. It was the last time Skarsoe and One Night Stand appeared in the small tour ring as they are now training to make the transition to Grand Prix.

At Grand Prix level Christoph Koschel and the 10-year old Westfalian Rostropowitch (by Rockwell x Coriograf B) won the Grand Prix for Special with 70.702%. The muscled bay gelding struggled with the piaffe and with staying electric in the test, but he showed good trot work. Matthias Kempkes and the very talented Riccoletto (by Rubin Royal) were second. Koschel also won the Special with 71.733%.

In the Grand Prix Prix for Kur Krefeld based Finnish rider Henri Ruoste steered Joachim Arl's 9-year old Jojo Z (by Ginus x Justboy) to victory with 71.766%. His country mate Terhi Stegars followed in second place aboard the Trakehner licensed stallion Axis (69.128%).  In the freestyle, Stegars moved to the top of the leaderboard with 72.500% and was followed by the Dutch Petra Logger-Beers on the sensitive bay mare Odame K (by Jazz) with 71.150%
