Teams Picked for 2012 New Zealand Young Rider Inter-Island Challenge Trophy

The Dressage New Zealand National selectors have announced the young rider dressage teams to contest the Inter-Island Challenge Trophy to be held at the South Island Dressage Championships on 3 – 5 February at McLeans Island NEC.

The North Island team includes Anya Noble (Waikato) and Catherine West (New Plymouth) who will ride horses generously loaned by Canterbury owners Nicola Whalley (Flash All Over) & Sue Bowden Distinctive) throughout the whole event with their final test championship counting as a the first round of the Inter Island Team Challenge.

Southerners Siobhan Fauth (Canterbury) and Hannah Johnston (Otago) will ride their own mounts Hollywood Superstar & Brampton Gigolo in the first round.

The four riders will then swap horses and ride another test with % scores being added to their first round score to determine Individual & Team Derby Placings.

The New Zealand Young Riders Inter Island Challenge Trophy has been competed annually for over ten years and is a very sought after trophy by the young riders.
