The Dutch warmblood show jumping stallion Animo passed away at his home in Great Britain. The 29-year old stallion suffered from old age. He has teeth problems and a sinus infection and was therefore humanely put down.

Animo was discovered as a 2-year old by Gert-Jan van Olst. He passed the KWPN licensing but finished at the bottom in the stallion performance test. After competing in the Stallion Competitions in Holland, the bay was briefly sent to England for training with Rob Hoekstra. Henk van den Broek competed the stallion of Grand Prix show jumping level.

Animo sold to British based Norwegian jumper Morten Aasen as an Olympic hopeful  in 1991. The pair competed at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. He also placed in 48 World Cups and Grand Prix.

Animo's offspring is equally famous: Jos Lansink's Andiamo Z and Romantico La Silla, Henk van den Broke's Animo's Hallo, Monaco, and the 2011 KWPN Select sale top selling licensed colt Revenge W.

Animo appears in the bloodlines of only few dressage horses. Carl Hester's 7-year old KWPN gelding Nip Tuck (by Don Ruto x Animo) is the most famous one.
