The black Hanoverian stallion San Remo (by Wolkentanz I x Volturno x Azur) has been sold to Great Britain, where he will continue his breeding and dressage career.

The 1999 born San Remo was licensed at the Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in 2001 and finished fourth in the premium ring. The black sold to The Netherlands at the auction for 145.000 DM. He was approved for the KWPN society and completed the Stallion Performance Test in Ermelo (NED) in 2002, scoring7 for walk, 8 for trot and canter and 8.5 for dressage potential.

Under Edward Gal the black finished fifth in the 2004 Pavo Cup Finals for 4-year olds. He was also third in the 2003-2004 KWPN Stallion competition circuit. The horse qualified for the 2004 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where he finished 16th in the consolation finals. In 2004-2005 KWPN Stallion Competition he finished second overall. Gal and San Remo also showed in a few qualifiers of the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 stallion competition at Z level.

After 2007 San Remo disappeared from the show scene to resurface in 2010 under John Tyssen. The then 11-year old Hanoverian was competed at Fourth level (Z2) at regional shows.

Two weeks ago San Remo moved from owner Joop van Uytert's stallion station to Matthijs Brouwer's stud farm in Leek. Brouwer sold the stallion to England.

Though San Remo was never a hugely popular breeding stallion in Holland he did end up siring two (!) KWPN Elite Mare Champion (2006: Wiona Utopia and 2011: D.Obertje).
