Coby van Baalen's student Sanne Vos and her buckskin pony Champ of Class (by Champion de Luxe) aced the 2011 Imperial Riding Cup Qualifier held in Nieuw en St. Joosland, The Netherlands, on Sunday . This is the second victory of this combination in the show circuit which ranks them fifth in the provisional standing.
Sanne Vos topped the leader board with 74.35% in a field of 33 competitors in total. Her young German Reitpony is well on its way of becoming Holland's number one FEI pony.
"He felt really good and it all seemed to go automatically," Vos commented after winning the class. Vos also finished third with her second pony Just You 'N Me, with whom she is part of the Dutch A-pony team. Sanne's goal of the season is riding on the Dutch team at the 2011 European Pony Championships in Poland.
Febe van Zwambagt and her refined looking black Prince Z (by Make my Day) finished second with 68.61% but is currently leading in the provisional ranking of the Imperial Riding Cup.
The top 16 combinations of the ranking will qualify for the finals, which are held at Outdoor Gelderland in the summer. There are two more qualifiers to go: at Sunrise Stables in Assen on 9 April and at equestrian centre Gert van den Hoorn in Kootwijk on 28 May.
