The bay KWPN gelding Borencio has kept a firm hold on the lead after the first round of the 4-year old Pavo Cup Finals at the 2010 KWPN Paardendagen in Ermelo, The Netherlands, 20 August 2010. The 2010 Pavo Cup Finals are divided into three rounds: a semi-finals which were held on Tuesday, and the Finals which consists of two rounds today.
The first final round for 4-year olds was held this morning and the top 6 ranked horses are invited for big finals this afternoon in which these horses will be ridden by guest judge riders Seth Boschman and Carl Hester.
Emmelie Scholtens and Tim and Leida Collins' bay gelding Borencio (by Florencio x Lord Sinclair) were the winners of the semi-finals and kept a firm hold on that number one spot today in first round of the Finals. He scored 90 points today which made his total now 178,5 points. Scholtens also placed second so far with Bretton Woods (by Johnson x De Niro) who was fourth in the semi-finals. The black stallion scored 88 points in this second round which led to a 173,5 total.
Cindy van Vugt and the 2009 KWPN Champion Mare Brooklyn (by United x Havidoff) placed third with 85 points (171 pts total). Further qualificants for the guest judge Finals are Bordeaux (by United x Gribaldi), Briljant (Uphill x Darlington) and Belle Lady Texel (Krack C x Farmer).
