German based European Junior Rider Champion Sanneke Rothenberger turned to her Dutch roots when she chose Dutch kur composer Cees Slings to arrange her brand new freestyle for Deveraux OLD, which will be premiered at the CDI Wiesbaden 21 - 24 May 2010.

Slings became famous for composing Anky van Grunsven's Olympic gold medal winning freestyles like "Something Old, Something New" and "L'Esprit Chanson", but the 57-year old has now found improved passion and motivation in being the exclusive kur designer of young international Grand Prix super stars such as Laura Bechtolsheimer, Matthias Alexander Rath and Victoria Max-Theurer.

The multiple medal winning Sanneke Rothenberger is Slings' newest addition to his clan of clients that have top quality freestyle which outclasses all other musical compositions with its professionalism and custom-made synchronization between the music and the footfall of the horse.

"Each kur has to be drama, suspense, a show that captivates," said the Dutch star composer. "The most important starting point is the tempo. Deveraux has a very, very steady rhythm, also thanks to his rider. This makes a very good combination. Sanneke's freestyle is a team job. We all know the script and the story but each member of my team is working on his part. I am the conductor of it all."

Sanneke and Slings have been in constant contact with each other over email to discuss the music and choreagraphy of her kur. "I'm very proud to work with such an artist," said Rothenberger.

Slings' kur is tailor made for Deveraux, Rothenberger's 9-year old Oldenburg gelding by De Niro x Rohdiamant which won the 2007 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden , Germany.

Rothenberger is the most successful youth rider in Europe at the moment. As a junior she won team, individual and kur gold at the 2008 and 2009 European Junior Riders Championships. This year she made the transition to Young Riders level.
