Zizi Top, Westpoint and Vivaldi won the third leg of the 2008-2009 KNHS/KWPN Stallion Competition held in Zuidbroek, The Netherlands, December 30, 2008.
It was the last time that the stallion competition show was held in Zuidbroek as this location will be replaced by Zuidlaren next year.
At L-level Dutch Olympian Hans Peter Minderhoud won aboard Zizi Top (by Tango x Ferro); the first time in this series as the energetic KWPN stallion has previously always been beaten by Ziesto, which now slotted in second place under Gerdine Maree.
"Of course it's fun for the audience and the breeders that there is an exciting competition," Minderhoud said. "I thought Zizi Top was very good today despite him being spooky. It made him move extraordinarily and I could still ride him well. The judges agreed and gave Zizi Top the highest points."
At M-level Emmelie Scholtens and Westpoint (by Jazz x Michelangelo) claimed their third consecutive victory with 83 points. Scholtens' second horse Westenwind (by Flemmingh x Contango) finished second with 78 points.
At Z-level Hans Peter Minderhoud and the chestnut KWPN stallion Vivaldi (by Krack C x Jazz) continued their string of success for the third time with a top score of 88%. The bay KWPN stallion Johnson (by Jazz x Flemmingh), also ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud, finished second with 81%
