Ziësto, Westpoint, and Vivaldi have won the first leg of the 2008-2009 KWPN Stallion Competition held at the national show in Hengelo, The Netherlands, December 3, 2008.
Gerdine Marie and the bay KWPN branded Ziesto (by Lancet) scored 83% to take the lead at L-level. The strong Ziesto, which is owned by Maree, Tim Coomans and Tineke Bartels, scored a 9 for trot and outclassed Hans Peter Minderhoud on Zizi Top (by Tango) by a fraction of a point. Minderhoud scored 82,5 points and referred Jennifer Sekreve on Zambuka to a third place.
At M-level Emmelie Scholtens won the class aboard Westpoint (by Jazz x Michelangelo) with a gigantic lead with 85 points. Anne van Olst finished second aboard her own and Ferienhof Stucker's Lord Leatherdale (by Lord Loxley). She got 78,50 points from the judges. Scholtens followed in third place with Westenwind (by Flemming x Contango).
At Z-level Hans Peter Minderhoud covered the top two spots. He won the class with Joop van Uytert's and Ad Valk's chestnut stallion Vivaldi (by Jazz x Flemmingh) on, 80.75%. With Henk Nijhof's bay KWPN stallion Johnson (by Jazz) he ranked second on 78,50%. Minderhoud's partner Edward Gal finished third aboard Resim Dressage's Santano (by Sandro Hit).
