Trakehner Breeding News

The Danish stallion station Blue Hors in Randboel, Denmark, is cleaning house. One month ago they sold Blue Hors Future Cup, now they dispensed the Trakehner stallion Blue Hors Hertug.

Dane Erik Westergaard purchased Hertug for his daughter Thit Vestergaard, who will compete the stallion. He will no longer be up for stud, though Blue Hors still has frozen semen available.

Blue Hors Hertug is by Schwadroneur out of Hellas (Donauwind x Bergsturm) and the stallion clearly put a stamp on his offspring. He became the Danish Young Horse Champion three years in a row as a 4, 5 and 6-year old. His offspring is of such high quality that the Danish Warmblood society proclaimed Hertug Elite Stallion in 2004. Blue Hors chief trainer Andreas Helgstrand is currently campaigning Hoergaard Hustler (by Hertug) in the FEI 5-year old division.
