Gestion Nourejev, the Prix St Georges horse of Dutch A-team member Edward Gal, has injured himself in transport when going home from the CDI Amsterdam.
The bay stallion by Cocktail x Ramiro stepped on his own hoof causing a minor injury.
"He was a little bit irregular because of it," Gal's girlfriend Nicole Werner said. "It is not a severe injury, but we want to play it safe, that's why we gave him some rest."
At the CDI Amsterdam, Gal and Gestion Nourejev won two classes, dominating the small tour. Nourejev was entered for the VHO Trophy at the 2004 KWPN Stallion Licensing this weekend. He was supposed to compete in the Intermediaire I kur to music and was considered to be the top favorite for that class.
