Two important breeding sires for the Hanoverian Society in Germany have passed away. Natiello xx, by Sycos xx out of Nathia xx (by Athenagoras xx) was one out of eight licensed thoroughbreds for the Hanoverian society and was up for stud in Celle.

Natiello xx' biggest achievement was finishing second in the German Derby and producing the 2001 Hanoverian Licensing Champion Nobleman (by Natiello xx x Wenzel II). Natiello xx was 14 years old and died from a colick attack.

Colic also struck down the Hanoverian sire Compliment. Compliment, who is by Calypso II x Freiherr x Lasso, was sold to Heike Kemmer of Amselhof Walle through the 1993 Verden Elite Auction. He did his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf and produced successful offspring such as stallions Competent and Cockpit. Hans-Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen competed Checkpoint Charly in the 2000 and 2001 Bundeschampionate. Compliment himself was not competed. He was 12 years old.
