At Stud for 2008 - Leatherdale Farms
Damsey
Breed: Hanoverian
Approved: Hanover, Danish Warmblood (further
breed societies on request)
Birth Year: 2002
Size: 170 cm - 16.3 ½ hands
Sire: Dressage Royal
Dam: Ria Grande
Dam Sire: Ritual x Grande x Ladykiller xx
Damsey is proving to be a most exceptional dressage
stallion. His walk and his huge trot catch the eye
of any serious dressage rider or judge. His bloodlines
include the Who's Who of Hanoverian pedigrees--- Donnerhall,
Rubinstein, Ritual/Ramiro and Grande. His materal lines
includes many state's premium mares as well.
Damsey
was licensed Hanoverian in 2005 and went through
his 70 day testing until the final week of the testing
when he came down with a fever and his previous owner
decided not to have him continue sick nor take the
average for the testing due to his magnificnet score
so far. We applaud this previous owner for his concern
putting the stallion first. We then were very lucky
to have found him and bought him in December of 2005
and brought him the Hengststation Meyer to be a stall
mate of His Highness!
We began his training in dressage and found him very
talented! More than we would have imagined with him
consistently scoring extremely well in compettions...his
walk being his highlight with consistent 9.5's!
Damsey's
sire, Dressage Royal, comes from the famous Oldenburg
performance line of Fasse III. Immediately
following
his successful tests for young riding and dressage
horses, he placed at the Bundeschampionat in the
class for five year old dressage horses in 2003. A
son from
his very first crop, Damsey, was licensed and in
the following year he was the sire of a premium stallion
named Doringcourt/Leonie Bramall/CAN. The dam, Ria
Grande, also produced Damsey's half-sister called
Daianira
van de Helle (by Dream of Glory), who placed in 2004
as well as 2005 under Vicky Smits/BEL at the World
Chaùmpionships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden.
Dam's
sire,
Ritual, supplied top horses for all disciplines in
riding. The amount of prize money won in 2006 by
his off-spring such as the WC jumper, Resonanz/Vladimir
Beletskiy/RUS as well as Rainy Day/Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst,
Ramadan Z/Eduardo Netto de Almeida/POR and Rubia/Axel
Milkau surpassed the 390,000 Euro mark. Ritual sired
14 licensed sons, including Rudelsburg, the sire
of
the 2005 German Champion in show jumping, Rulanda/Imke
Harms.
