Callaho's Benicio is a proven dressage sire with an impressive performance record and a long list of progeny successful in sport and breeding.
Stallion Station Mathieu Beckmann in Wettringen (GER) has been Benicio's home for years and also for the 2024 breeding season he will stand at stud with fresh and frozen semen.
Successful in Sport
In 2011, Benicio became the sensational German champion of six-year-old dressage horses at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf and followed in the footsteps of his equally popular and successful sire Belissimo M as a champion of hearts. In the autumn of 2011 he completed his performance test in Schlieckau with the best dressage result ever achieved as a stallion: 9.88. Benicio also surpassed the record result of Belissimo, who set an unprecedented standard with 9.63 in Zweibrücken in 2002. In Schlieckau Benicio got three times 10 for walk, trot and canter.
In the summer of 2014, Benicio celebrated his comeback to the show ring at the age of nine under Jessica Lynn Andersson and he continued his victorious sporting career into the national Grand Prix arena. The highly sympathetic Benicio has over thirty victories and placings at S-level alone; more than half of these tests with victories from Prix St.Georg to Grand Prix level, including seven in Grand Prix tests.
Successful in Breeding
With a high level of consistency, Benicio makes his mark at stallion licensings, elite mare shows and championships every year. So far he has sired 35 licensed sons.
Like Father, Like Son
Rideability, character, temperament and willingness to perform are the sought-after attributes that Benicio passes on just as much as Belissimo. Father and son have become popular sires on German dressage horse breeding scene and are continuing the great legacy of foundation stallion "Bolero" in the sire line.
Benicio's dam, the state premium mare Valencia (by Velten Third), was the Hanoverian reserve champion mare in 2002 and has another licensed son, Sunciro (by the thoroughbred Sunlight xx). Valencia has six offspring successful in sport, including Benicio's full sister Belle Fleur de mon Coeur who has achieved numerous victories and placings at M-level and an impressive life earning of 2,000 euro in six years of sport so far. The licensed full brothers World Cup I-IV by Woermann x Sender and their full sister Souvenir DS also emerged from the Hanoverian mare line of Feldland.
Benicio is bred by Wilhelm Stadtlander and owned by Callaho Stud, South Africa.
