Last week the legendary KWPN foundation stallion Jazz passed away, but the news was only announced on 6 January 2020.
Jazz was bred by an equally legendary breeder: Huub van Helvoirt, who shaped modern Dutch warmblood dressage breeding.
Jazz was by Cocktail out of Charmante (by Ulster) and Huub's wife Tinie named the colt at birth "Jacob" after their good friend, equestrian journalist, photographer and breeder Jacob Melissen, at
Huub sold the colts from his brood farm that was mare dominated. Jacob was purchased as a 6-month old colt by Bob Rijsdijk and Nico Witte, who reared him.
