Mister Mads, Top Seller at 2017 Luhmuhlen Foal Auction

The colt Mister Mads (by Morricone x Waikiki x Rondo) became the top seller at the 26th Anniversary Foal Auction in Luhmühlen, Germany, on 9 September 2017. A mixed group of dressage and jumpers foals were offered, but the dressage bred colts achieved the highest prices.

The top seller was Mister Mads (by Morricone x Waikiki), bred by breeders group Thörmann, which fetched a price of 17,000 euro. The colt moves to a yard in Burgwedel, Germany.

The second most expensive foal was the filly Da Vinci (by by Don K x Sandro Hit x Raphael), which sold to Bavaria for 14,500 euro. The same buyer also acquired the most expensive filly, Isabella SCH (by Ibiza x Scolari x Conteur) for 14,200 euro.

A bay colt by Buckingham x Edward w Waikiki switched owners for 12,500 euro while a chestnut colt by Vilancio x San Amour x Weltmeyer sold locally for 10,000 euro. A black colt by Flanell x Wolkenstein II x Rubinstein achieved a knock down price of 10,200 euro.

Sixty-one foals were originally registeted for this auction and Forty-four foals out of 55 offered were sold. They achieved an average price of 5,600 euro.  This auction was organized by the Lüneburg Nord horse breeders' society.
