Bossa Nova, Price Highlight of the 2012 Westfalian Spring Elite Auction

The 3-year old bay stallion Bossa Nova (by Basic x Ferragamo) became the price highlight of the 2012 Westfalian Spring Elite Auction held in Munster-Handorf, Germany, on 1 April 2012.

Bred and owned by Maria Leusmann, Bossa Nova sold for 110,000 euro to Switzerland.

Twenty-nine young sport horses were offered for sale and 28 sold at the auction, for an average price of 22,875 euro.

The second most expensive horse was the 4-year old chestnut mare Burberry (by Belissimo M x World Magic) which switched owners for 32,000 euro. The mare has found a new home in Bavaria, Germany.

Mathias Fendrich's 4-year old bay mare Deneuve (by Damon Hill x Jacquare) was good for the third best selling price of 30,500 euro. Another Belissimo M mare attracted interst from buyers. The 7-year old liver chestnut mare Beyonce (by Belissimo M x Florestan) sold for 28,000 euro.

Four riding ponies were offered for sale and they achieved a solid knock down average of 15,250 euro. The most expensive one was the 6-year old grey stallion Don Camillo (by Don't Worry x Nantano) which moves to Bremen for 22,500 euro.

Nineteen foals were selected for this elite auction and all of them sold at auction for an average price os 7.553 euro. The bay colt Fiorano Rosso (by Fiorano x Dresemann) was the highlight of the collected. It sold for 18,500 euro to Luxembourg.  The black filly Missy Elliott (by Millennium x Lancer II) sold for 15,000 euro. The bay colt First of April (by Fürstenball x Rosenkavalier) sold for 9,000 euro.
