The 9-year old Hanoverian licensed stallion Waterford has been sold to the United States. The chestnut sire has been acquired by Lynn McEnespy from Chico, California, and he is currently in training at Rudolf Zeilinger's in Emsburen with his rider Britta Johnston.

Waterford will move to the U.S.A in February 2006 and will be ridden by McEnespy from then on.

Bred by Wilfried Schlichting, Waterford is a 1996 born Hanoverian stallion by Wolkenstein II out of Minna (by Matcho AA x Pik König). He became the Champion of the 1998 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing and won the Stallion Performance Test in 1999 with a score of 154,48 points. Waterford was owned by the Landsgestut Celle and has always been up for stud there.

Britta Johnston and Waterford's owner Lynn McEnespy are ecstatic about their new dressage horse. "We chose Waterford, because of his high rideability, trainability, most wonderful disposition and good breeding record. Also working with Celle is always great," Johnston told Eurodressage. Waterford's semen is still available at Celle, and he will be standing at stud in the U.S. in 2006.
