Trakehner Contact Nederland (TCN) has announced the discontinuance of the Foundation TCN-Promotion (TCN-P). In 1989, ten Dutch Trakehner enthusiasts decided to sponsor a Trakehner stallion in the dressage sport
in an attempt to show that Trakehners are not crazy horses, but actually top sport athletes that belong in the dressage world.
Ten idealists decided to donate money to purchase a licensed Trakehner stallion in Neumunster and put the horse in training with a talent dressage rider.
TCN-P purchased the bay Arogno offspring Partout and offered him to Anky van Grunsven, who was at that time a relatively unknown but up and coming dressage rider. The TCN-P Foundation was very fortunate with the purchase of Partout. Not only did he compete at top level, but he also proved his worth as a breeding stallion, being, the sire of, for instance, Monteverdi, a Trakehner Licensing Champion and Grand Prix dressage horse.
"It's been 16 years now and some of the participants are no longer with us. Others have become too old to take up new sponsorship ventures," said a representative of TCN. "With Partout we also achieved our goal. The Trakehner is a popular sport horse in The Netherlands and with Gribaldi we have a top Trakehner represented with the KWPN."
The 18-year old Partout is retired from competition, but still very active as a breeding sire. With the discontinuance of TCN-P, Anky van Grunsven had decided to purchase Partout so that he'll be able to stay with her till his last day.
