The Pony competition in Saumur's all important CDIO section was dominated by Britain's well known Phoebe Peters. After her clean sweep in Vidauban she again claimed triple victory, winning the team, individual and kur with a 72.948%, a 76.536% and a 78.050%. Fellow country mates Rebecca Bell and Amber Barton as well as Belgian Numa Verberne topped the board in the CDI leg of the pony division.

German former Under 25 rider Jenny Lang has made a seamless transition to the senior league, winning her first international Grand Prix class as a kur debutante at the 2013 CDI Mannheim on Sunday 5 May 2013. The 26-year old scored 75.550% in the Kur to Music and left seasoned professionals far behind her.

No matter if standing in the “Meerfelder Bruch” near Dülmen in Germany, in Nevada in the USA or the Namib desert in Africa: Wherever we can observe wild living horses we can recognise how far our specialised dressage horse breeding has come. The stocky small ponies in Germany’s wild horse resort in Westfalia resemble little with the leggy well moving animals living not far away in the many dressage stables around; except for one absolutely essential fact: They are still both herd animals with a strong flight instinct and the very same needs.
