The Kronberg qualifier is traditionally the first big national event of the year, where Germany's top pony, junior and young riders combinations meet in order to qualify for the 2014 Preis der Besten.

Emile Faurie's 7-year old rising Prix St Georges horse Duke Ellington has passed away due to acute laminitis. The horse's quickly deteriorating condition was sudden and unexpected.

Planning and thinking about your ride are a part of dressage training, but just as over-thinking can be detrimental, over-planning can cause the rider to overlook or become ignorant to a particular horse's weakness on that particular day. Horses, just like humans, are never the same one day to the next. Whether it is because your horse slept in an odd position, or he just feels a strange ache down one side, he will need to account for that in his daily training.

While father Christian reconfirmed his 2014 World Equestrian Games' qualification scores in the big tour, daughter Esther swept the board in the Young Riders' division.

It was a family affair for Grand Prix rider Christian Brühe and his daughter Esther at the 2014 Barcelona Dressage Tour CDI, which was held two weeks in a row at Can Alzina near Barcelona, Spain, from 19 - 30 March 2014. While father Christian reconfirmed his 2014 World Equestrian Games' qualification scores in the big tour, daughter Esther swept the board in the Young Riders' division.
