British Olympic medal winner Laura Tomlinson (née Bechtolsheimer) and her husband Mark Tomlinson became the proud parents of their second child on 18 March 2017. Laura gave birth to a baby boy.

Eurodressage F.O.C.U.S.

Former German team rider Matthias Rath swept the board in the small tour division at the 2017 CDI Valencia in Spain with Foundation and Sir Picardi. After the retirement of Totilas, the 32-year old rider has not been seen in the Grand Prix ring since August 2015. Rath disclosed to Eurodressage that his ambitions for top level sport have not waned.

The tightness of nosebands in dressage horses has been a hot topic for the past few years. At the same time as animal welfarists have been complaining to show organisations and the FEI about excessively tight nosebands and wrong use of the bits, researchers have been investigating the matter scientifically and publishing papers on the topic. Paul McGreevy has become the front-runner in this field and now two members of the IDRC - Wayne Channon and Kyra Kyrklund - have joined the debate in light of launching an FEI Safety and Welfare Committee.
