Since 2004, a special show circuit called the Ecco cup has become part of the Danish dressage scene. The Ecco cup are shows for the Danish pony and junior riders in order to scout for new talent and stimulate and support existing Danish youth riders.
After a two-year recovery period, Leslie Morse's Dutch bred and Oldenburg licensed stallion Kingston (by Voltaire) has successfully returned to the show scene. He became the FEI High Point Champion at the CDI-W Burbank in California, USA, March 2, 2008, winning the Grand Prix Kur to Music with 71.450%.
Dressage is known to be a solitary sport with one rider at the epicenter and a team of supporters behind the horse and rider combination. The typical sight at shows are the daughter or son riding the horse with the parents helping as grooms, rooting for their child in their role of emotional and financial supporters.
