Seth Boschman's Grand Prix horse Adriaan RVL has been sold as a schoolmaster to the U.S.A. The 12-year old Dutch warmblood (by Special D x Darwin) sold to Janek and Yvonne de Haan from Florida, U.S.A.

Former European Junior Riders Champion Jill de Ridder has a new competitive Grand Prix horse to ride, the 9-year old Baden Wurttemberger gelding Dallas. Jill's grand parents acquired the gelding right before Christmas. Jill is aiming to compete on the Under 25 Grand Prix show circuit this 2017 show season.

Eventing and not dressage took centre stage at the USEF's Horse of the Year Awards Gala on 13 January 2017. Philip Dutton and his horse Might Nice were named U.S. Equestrian of the Year and International Horse of the Year, edging out Laura Graves and Verdades for top honour.

French based Belgian Grand Prix rider Laurence Vanommeslaghe represented Belgium at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen and 2015 European Championships in Aachen, but for the past two show seasons she has been absent from the international scene. Her top horse has been retired from competition, but Laurence has two new irons in the fire for her Grand Prix career.

Former German B-squad rider Uta Gräf has received the ride on the 6-year old licensed stallion Feriado. Angelika and Eric Neukranz acquired the stallion from Gestut Birkhof and have moved the black to Gräf's yard Gut Rothenkircherhof.
