British WEG team gold medal winning dressage rider Carl Hester has officially stated that he does not endorse the Valegro Syndicate which has been set up by fans on Facebook to gather money to buy a 49% share of the horse to keep the ride with Charlotte Dujardin.
German trainer Jan Bemelmans has been hired as the new French dressage team trainer. Jan was the former Spanish team trainer who led Spain to its biggest dressage successes to date.
Adri Strating, the first major sponsor for Dutch dressage, passed away at age 75 on Friday 28 December 2012. Strating was the first major sponsor of Dutch dressage in the 1990s.

The second annual Robert Dover Horsemastership Clinic will be held at The Stadium at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center on January 1-6, 2013. The clinic will consist of training with world-renowned dressage riders as well as lectures from the industry's best horsemen and women.
Belgian team junior rider Jorinde Verwimp became the runner up in the Belgian Talent of the Year 2012 competition, which was won by Belgian Grand Prix show jumper and young rider Olivier Philippaerts. The competition is run by the Flemmish Equestrian Federation (VLP).
