BWP Breeding News

A record number of 119 colts have been entered for the 2010 BWP stallion licensing. In recent years, the number of candidates has never been so high. For 2010 there is a substantial increase compared to the number of 88 candidates last year.

KWPN Breeding News

The Dutch KWPN breeding society has released the names of the horses in the running to become KWPN Horse of the Year 2009. All KWPN fans can vote on their favourite horse via the KWPN website.

Trakehner Breeding News

The renowned Trakehner premium gelding Latimer died unexpectedly at his new home at Stall Eiben in Munchberg, Germany on 3 December 2009. The black Trakehner was sold to the Bavarian junior rider Jasmin Büttner, who competed him during the 2009 show season.

Hanoverian Breeding News

Tidningen Ridsport reported that the Hanoverian licensed stallion Laurentio has been sold to the American Colette Ross-Prince, who is based in Sweden. The 10-year old bay stallion will be trained and competed at FEI level dressage.

Trakehner Breeding News

On 20 November 2009 Gottfried Hoogen, a renowned breeder of Trakehners and founder of the famous Vogelsanghof Stud, passed away at the age of 89 following pneumonia. Gottfried Hoogen has been described as a "visionary" and was highly influential for the breeding of Trakehner and Rhinelander horses.
