The 14-year old Dutch Welsh pony Vegelin's Goya, the triple silver medalist at the 2017 European Pony Championships, has been maintained for Denmark, selling to Danish Margaretha Rosenkilde. Louise Christensen acquired the junior rider's horse Furstenqueen OLD.

Vegelin's Goya is by Verona's Bo-Gi out of a Leuns Veld's Darling Boy dam.

This stunning chestnut stallion has been a member of the Danish pony dressage team since 2012. His show record list includes 16 medals achieved at Danish Championchips, Nordic Championships and European Championchips. Under Louise Christensen, he was fifth three times at the 2015  European Pony Championships in Malmø, Sweden. At 2016 Europeans in Vilhelmsborg he got double bronze individually and team silver and at the 2017 Europeans in Kaposvar he got double silver and team silver.

Advertised on the Eurodressage Equimarket, Goya sold to the 13-year old Margaretha Rosenkilde who is based in Ikast, Denmark, and trains with Allan Skov.

"After having Goya in our stable for 9½ year, it was very important for us to find a nice and dedicated family to take care of Goya in the future. Goya has given us so many fantastic experiences in our life, so that we owed him," said father Brian Christensen. "He has always been a very special pony with his calmness, expression and talent. He is one of a kind. The new family has three daughters, who all loves to ride. Margaretha is the oldest daughter and Goya will end his career at this family. He is in very good hands."

Goya's rider Louise Christensen will now make the transition to junior rider's level. The Christensen family has acquired the 7-year old Oldenburg Brilliant ring mare Furstenqueen (by Furstenball x Jazzman x Don Primero), bred and previously owned by Quadriga stud. She was competed by Maja Weber and Aikje Fehl. The mare placed 9th at the 2014 Bundeschampionate and 17th in the consolation finals at the 2015 Bundeschampionate. Fehl and Furstenqueen won their last show together on 1 October 2017 in Rieden at S-level for developing PSG horses.

Christensen recently had to switch trainers. On Goya she was coached by Ulrik Sorensen, but as the trainer became sport director at Blue Hors, Christensen had to find new tutelage. She is now coached by Louise Panum and Mads Jakobsen.
