British Olympic team gold medallists Carl Hester and Laura Tomlinson-Bechtolsheimer received their MBE medals as they were appointed "Member" of the Order of the British by Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle on Friday 19 July 2013.

The 28-year old Tomlinson and the 46-year old Hester received this honourable distinction for their glorious performances at the 2012 Olympic Games. Back in May team mate Charlotte Dujardin was already appointed "Officer" in the Order of British Empire (OBE) for winning individual gold.

For the MBE ceremony Tomlinson wore a fantastic blue Bruce Oldfield couture dress with matching hat, while Hester looked dapper in a tweed suit tailored by The Kooples from Paris.

"Laura and I made the papers! So great for British Dressage," Carl wrote about the publication of the pair's MBE medal distinction.

The British golden team riders - Laura, Charlotte and Carl - have been living the celebrity life in England. On 29 June 2013 the trio also attended the Wimbledon Grand Slam tennis tournament, where they sat in the royal box. Hester also celebrated his birthday on that day.
