Andrea Bank and the Hanoverian stallion Doringcourt (by Doringcourt x Glückspilz x Diadem) won the Prix St Georges class of the New Zealand leg of the 2012 FEI World Dressage Challenge in Taupo at the National Equestrian Centre on Saturday 10 November 2012. Bank scored 66.382% to top the leaderboard.

The Prix St Georges Challenge looked strong from the outset with some of the country's most experienced small tour riders showing up from as far afield as Waitemata and Wellington. Andrea Bank had two horses entered and outclassed the field by taking the two top places.

"I was really happy with Doringcourt’s test," said Bank. "We had some hairy moments with a few spooks here and there but the quality of his work was good enough to win the class on 66.38%"

Trained by Leonie Brammall and Jenny Gerkhe, Bank is one of New Zealand's high profile dressage riders though she does not compete very much. "I’m pretty picky about the surfaces I ride my horses on. I want to keep them for the long run. For me there’s no reason to thrash them," she once commented to Emma van Tuyl.
