Carl Hester's Yard Flooded
Carl Hester arrived to a flooded home in Gloucestershire, Great Britain, upon his return from a highly successful 2012 CDI Hagen where student
Charlotte Dujardin rode a world record score on his horse Valegro.
Severe weather conditions affected the area where Carl's home is based (near Hartpury). Hester's farm is a renovated old mill house and lies right near a river bank, which has bursted. While the house has been preserved, the fields are flooded.
All his paddocks have turned into ponds as well as the meadow field where he takes the horses for daily hacks. Debris, such as old trees and bottles, has washed up in his garden.
"There's no hope of getting any of the horses out in the field," said Carl. "This is Gloucestershire so you can see why Badminton has been cancelled."
Carl and Charlotte were supposed to ride a demo on Friday and Saturday at the CCI *** in Badminton.
