Sanneke Rothenberger and not Annabel Frenzen will be representing Germany at the 2011 Young Riders World Cup Final held at the CDI-W Frankfurt on 14 - 18 December 2011. Even though the German Equestrian Federation initially nominated Frenzen for the event, the rules forced the federation to change their candidacy to Rothenberger.

In the past the German Equestrian Federation nominated that oldest Young Rider on the team for the World Cup Finals as a "good-bye present". Co-incidingly the oldest rider has always been the best performing rider of the year as well.

This year, however, 21-year old Annabel Frenzen is to one saying goodbye to the Young Riders' division, but the younger Sanneke Rothenberger has scored the highest point average throughout the year. A closer look at the rules forced the German federation to switch nominations.

The German federation has applied for a wild card for the Frenzen but this has not yet been allocated.
